Q - Do i really need insurance?
A - Taking a risk might be good with poker, but when it comes to renting a car, you really need to be insured.
Sure car rental insurance is very complicated (even Viola - our Rental Consultant doesn't know everything), but
it is an unwise decision to drive without a safety net. Don't be careless! As much as you want to relax on holiday
in either Zaka, Troutbeck or Nyashanu, car accidents don't go on vacation.
Q- What happens if my car breaks down?
A - Our car fleet is generally replaced within 12 months, so it is extremely unlikely that any vehicle will
break down, but in case of any problems, we will make sure you get a replacement car as quickly as possible.
Q - Will I be charged if I bring the vehicle back after the return time on the agreement?
A - Yes, you will be charged for each hour or part of an hour in excess of the time you were required to return the vehicle.
Q - How are rates calculated?
A - The rates are based on a 24 hour rental day starting with the hour you pick up the vehicle.
Q - How can I ensure I receive the best rates available?
A - Impala guarantees that you will get the best rates on-line. Just like when buying anything else, you should
shop around for the best bargains first. After you've shopped around, we are confident you will find that Impala offers
the most competitive rates offered by any of the car rental companies in Harare.
Q - What happens if the car is damaged, stolen, or involved in an accident?
A - If the car is stolen or has been involved in an accident, first call the local police. Next, call us and explain
what has happened. If it's after hours, call on mobile number 0912462544. Accidents and vehicle theft aren't something
we dont like to think about, but they can happen even to the most careful driver. Be careful not to violate your car
rental agreement by driving while intoxicated, allowing an unauthorized person to drive the vehicle, leaving the windows,
doors or trunk unlocked, or leaving the keys in the ignition when parked. If the agreement if violated, it makes the waiver
void. Be sure to familiarize yourself with all of the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. Remember that, as the
renter, you are liable for all parking and moving traffic violations, so please drive safely and observe all ordinances.
Q - Should I bring a child seat with me?
A - You can save time by placing a request for your child seat when you make an advance reservation. A few new vehicles,
like the Chrysler Minivan which is available at Impala, have child seats built in. You should know that child seats are not
items we can guarantee.
Q - Do I need to bring my Driving Licence with me?
A - Yes, if you are unable to produce your driving licence you may not be able to drive away a hire car.
Q-What types of payment should I bring?
A - Cash or cheques at the moment. If you opt to pay by cheque then you will need to wait for it to clear
in our bank before you can have the hire car.
Q - What's all this insurance Mumbo, Jumbo Jargon?
A - Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) usually covers loss and/or damage to the rental car. CDW releases you from
financial responsibility under rental contract if you crash the car. This agreement can be voided if you are
caught using the car in an imprudent manner (ie. driving like a maniac) or driving wakadhakwa! Please keep in mind
that CDW is technically not insurance and is not state-regulated. Be sure to thoroughly understand the policy
regarding CDW. The terms and language are loosely used and often very ambiguous to you - the customer.
LDW: Loss Damage Waiver is similar to CDW.
PAI: Personal Accident Insurance provides a one-time payment for you or an accompanying passenger in case of
death or injury from a car accident. This is generally covered under your own auto or health policies.
Q - Can I guarantee a particular make or type of car hire vehicle?
A - Impala cannot guarantee a particular make or model of vehicle. The vehicles illustrated within this website
or on your booking form are for guidance only and may be substituted for an alternative, similar or upgraded car
(at no extra cost). We will, however, try and accommodate any request for specific vehicles you ask for.
